NSDAP33 is on a distinguished road
Trying to ID JG, Staffel, etc associated w/ planes my Uncle shot down as a B-17 Bombadier

Addendum: Anyone have any ideas where I can look besides going back to Germany ? Is there a way to access the Bundesarkiv from the net ? Any direction is worth exploring. Thanks,

12 O'Clock High Members-

I exchanged emails w/ Ruy Horta back in June as I have been beating my head on my keyboard trying to dig up some definitive answers or good SWAG's to a few answers I have been researching for awhile. Well, I finally got around to registering and am excited about being a new member.

My Uncle Bill (William A. Winter) was a B-17 bombadier w/ the 351st Heavy Bombardment Group at Polebrook. I have 3 certificates issued to him by Col. William A. Hatcher Jr., the commander, of 3 Luftwaffe planes. As a plastic model builder, I would like to build the 3 different aircraft with at the very best, the correct JG, Staffel ID's on the planes. I realize there may have been multiple units involved, but I'd like to give the experts (Ruy says if anybody can dig up some info, y'all can). This is the info on the certificates:

On 11June43, target Bremen - FW-190 (I read in the 351st that Bremen was primary, and may have diverted to secondary)

On 9Oct43, target Anklam - an Me-110

On 5Nov43, target Gelsenkirchen - an Me-109

Any help I can get, I would be very greatful. I am a pretty good researcher, have a large library, but this has had me stumped!
