Re: Help! French P-47 loss near Darmstadt, Germany

Danny,

The French Forces d' Ocupation used for there P-47 this airbases in Germany:

Friedrichshafen
Trier
Koblenz-Niedermendig

all off them are former German Airfields.

During 1947 this units where in Germany:

GC 2/2 "Alsace"
GC 2/3 "Dauphine"
GC 1/4 "Dauphine"
GC 1/4 "Navarre"
GC 1/3 "Navarre"
GC 1/5 "Champagne"
GC 2/3 "Champagne"
GC 2/5 "La Fayette"
GC 2/4 "La Fayette"

They lost several planes and pilots, mostley during Combat and Dogfight Training. For the Rapport d' Enquette the best way you write at the
Armee de l' Air, Service Historique at Paris.

I have had an crashsite from 1/5 and they send me the complett file include photos etc.

Bests,
Hans
