I notice that the description states "flew military airplanes in organized units" and not women pilots in combat. My understanding is that women in US and GB were ferry pilots and the like, while women from the Soviet Union were actually in combat. But I might have the wrong understanding.
A single woman of Danish descent flew as ferry pilot in England: Vera Strodl (later Strodl Dowling), who is a member of Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame.
