Re: Bf 109 cr. on 13 Oct 1944

From the summary of Luftwaffe losses, other possible total losses of Bf 109 units:

II/JG 5: an aircraft destroyed without enemy action on non-operational flight
IV/JG 51: an aircraft destroyed by gunfire from enemy aircraft during operational flight, observed by enemy
I/JG 52: an aircraft destroyed without enemy action on non-operational flight
II/JG 301 (then with Bf 109 and Fw 190): an aircraft destroyed without enemy action on non-operational flight
JGr Ost (then with Bf 109 and Fw 190): three aircraft destroyed without enemy action on non-operational flight
JGr Süd (then with Bf 109 and Fw 190): two aircraft destroyed without enemy action on non-operational flight
1./NAGr 5 (then with Bf 109 and Fw 189): one aircraft missing Due to enemy action

Sorry no more details for the above , but maybe Jim or Matti will help to complete them.

As oudjat said, more details about the location (like the area, a nearby big town) will help to eliminate possible losses. It the location came from a German report it may refer to a place in Eastern Europe now known under another name, too.

Best regards

Laurent
