Re: DE PROFUNDIS: Death of a beloved site

I fully understand his point of view...as I told here, some people in Brazil were using pictures from already published books to Edit their own works here...There is an old DICTUM: "In the land of the blinds; the one who sees is GOD".
I was just now searching on ebay and found some people selling pictures taken from "La Luftwaffe en Couleurs" from Editions HEIMDAL freely, as if they were his own pictures! And...I have seen also the same approach, of using pictures from someone else on several UK publications, etc...without quoting, etc....
THIS is the way mankind is now going on...I do not dare to imagine how it will be in 10-20 years if people still maintain this focus on "profits on all costs", etc...
PLEASE DO REMEMBER that a former US Historian who uses to write here and on other Military Forums ( a well known one...I do not want to put his name here ) told me that someone "invaded" his personal computer and have stollen ALL his work+pictures! That's really sad indeed...the way its going on...
ON the other hand...a lot of people from THIS FORUM helped me freely...sending pictures, information, sometimes even sending me RAF Squadrons ORBs. WELL I tried to reciprocate in the same way, sharing some pictures I received from former Veterans, sending some relatives ORBs I do have ( and they needed ), etc...That's the way I imagine it should be...( from the Education I received and the principles I do follow in my life ).
Franck ( OUIDJAT ) frequently do share with us what he find at ebay, just for sharing good things with others...
IT is sad that an Enthusiast is obliged to shut down his site for things like that...
PS: Sorry if I expressed myself quite openly...
Yours
A.
