Re: D-ISBY not in pre-war civil registrar?
It was originally booked for one of a second batch of British Airways Concordes, but they were cancelled. I understood that it was left dormant, until I saw B-BOAJ (a Jungmann) at Duxford last year. It has been used, I forget on what, but the aircraft was sold abroad and re-registered.
I find quite enough modelling ideas from RAF squadron codes, and have a nice little backlog of 105 Sq Battle, Blenheims and Mosquitos for A.GB, plus an Canadian Lancaster AG.B. Add my wife and childrens' initials, and I could be kep happy for a while.
I don't remember (if I ever knew) David's middle initial, but would be glad to help him find a suitable RAF (or indeed 8th AF, 9th AF, or other suitable air forces) modelling subject. Finding the correct serial is usually the most difficult part.
