Hi, I hope the following helps: He was Born 1909 and served with I/JG132,
Adjutant JG52 (19.8.39-30.11.39), Kommandeur I/JG52 (1.12.39-26.8.40),
Erg.Gr.Merseburg, Ia 5.Jagddivision (3.10.44- .45)
He was unhurt on 15 May 1940, Bf109E-3 believed damaged in combat with RAF Hurricanes (3., 607.and 625.Sqd.) Between Namur and Dinant, at 1130 hours. He belly-landed near Liège, Belgium, sustaining 85 % damage. He returned to his unit three days later.
Awarded the EKI in August 1940.
He gave up command of I/JG52 due to a grumbling appendix.
Promoted to Oberstleutnant i.G. on 1 April 1944.
