Re: Bf 109 WNr 462707

hmmmmmmm...restoration is okay, but the company who built it is not very "trustworthy" and quite dishonest...too bad.

They contract many things out, and also do not know much about the Me109, surprisingly. They tried to sell me an Me109 E windscreen, claiming it was Me109 G. This was 5 years ago, and I had to "educate" them on the difference. They also claimed it as original, when it was clearly reproduction.

They tried to sell late war Me109G/K wing skins to a friend of mine, claiming they are okay for Me109 G2 through G6. Well...they had a LARGE kidney shaped holed for the Me109 K and G-10 wheels...so certainly not okay for the G2 or G6.

The G-14 is basically a complete new-build. I have photos of it during restoration, and I cannot see any original parts. An old email from 2006, shows it appearing to be around 85% finsihed. The email states when finished, the asking price would be 125000,00 euro, fully painted. It also says they were deciding whether or not to build it as a G6 or G14.

...not sure how they got a G-14 werk number for it when no history was known 5 years ago. Seems like a werk number was "created" to increase the price.

This company also contracted a friend of mine to restore the wings (on the G6, I beleive)...my friend never got any credit for it either...

nice...
