2/Erg/ JG 53 was one of 2 Staffeln within Erg/JG 53. Formed in Nov 40, it was first commanded by Lt Dr Rudolf Lüder and then in Aug 42 Oblt Werner Ursinus. In Feb 42 it became 3/Erg Süd.
