Re: Spitfires on the beach

Kaki,

We have 52 photos of force-landed Spits, many partially burned out, on French-Belgium beaches from the Dunkirk period in our EOE photo data base. There may be as many as a dozen different FL represented, of which about 6-7 are reasonably well identified: Deere, Stephenson, Cazenove, Hart and possibly Morant (ZDoU?, P9377), and Learmond (GRoM? P9370?). One I'm particularly interested in confirming is YToK, probably P/O T. Smart of 65 SQ in P9435 FL on May 28, 1940. Have one photo of this aircraft with reasonably clear codes and the cockpit burned out--fired by pilot--but don't have a really good photo yet of the SN, which would nail this one. Does anyone have a photo of YToK showing this?

Regards,
