Thanks, Andrew, for these useful lists. I can add more to the "Sperrflug" discussion. The best definition is "defensive patrol"; the root is from "barrier". JG 26 Flugbücher have many examples in 1941-42 of Sperrflüge over airfields and along railroad lines. They rarely resulted in interceptions, and would normally count as "operational non-combat" flights.
