Seafire III NN343 AC Brookes

Hello,
I have registered here as I am trying to find information for my Grandmother who is now 96 years old and wants to find out more of her brothers service history.
Alfred Charles Brookes was killed when he crashed his Seafire in Cheshire in 1944 aged 25.
We know very little about his history or even the circumstances of his death.
This is all we really know of the crash;
NN343Seafire III
COAM55RNDA 20-3-44 Tested Arbroath 12/17-7-44 808S 8-44 Broke away from formation in bad visibility presumed lost control crashed in Cheshire Cat Z 11-10-44 (S/L AC Brookes killed)
Does anyone know more on his history? what of the aircraft? did it survive the crash, did anyone witness it?? So much we dont know!

Any help on this would be fantastic.
Many thanks
Chris Reid
