You are correct about his claims being controversial, I believe he flew with the Wildsau, and I copuld be wrong, but single seater Me262's, i.e he had no wittnesses and was one of those that took advantage of this situation. I believe he was very dis-liked amongst his comrades, who would not even hear of his name being spoken post war!
