the pilot was last seen hanging on a tree, which is mentioned in the MACR; but all the local eyewitnesses and members of nearby RAD-Camp (Reichsarbeitsdienstlager) mentioned that the chute was found with open belts; their search was not succesful.

According to his IDPF, Jarrell was able to escape, but all research about his final fate was given up in the years after WW II - because there was no starting point for a further research available.
