30.09.39 St.Fw. in 2./JG 53, shot down by a RAF Fairey Battle in the Saarbrücken-Merzig area.
01.11.39 Oblt., in I./JG 53.
14.05.40 Oblt. in 1./JG 53.
22.08.40 Hptm., appt Staka 2./JG 53 (to 20.11.41).
05.41 Staka 2./JG 53.
24.06.41 Hptm., appt acting Kdr. I./JG 53 (to 01.07.41).
07.08.41 appt Staka 2./JG 53.
20.11.41 Hptm., appt Kdr. I./JG 2 (to 04.05.42).
04.05.42 KIA – shot down into the sea off Cape d’Antifer by a Spitfire.

One known victory, his 1st, a Fesselballon, 20 September, 1939. A 2nd Fesselballon on 25 September, 1939. His 3rd, a Battle at Saarbrücken on 30 September, 1939.
