I can confirm that if as stated this was an aircraft of Stab.I./StG 2 then the last letter of the code should be B, so T6+_B. This would not explain the yellow found in the area of an insignia. The colour of the dog emblem referred to would be white. There are two possibilities.
- I have a feeling that the emblem attributed to Stab./StG 2 has been spotted on other a/c of the geschwader? The lower portion of this emblem has a yellow/gold wall and above the shield is a yellow/gold crown.
- The yellow could be the undercoat paint?
Photos of this area could help determine this.
The missing character must be a letter, but I do not have the records to suggest which letter. I believe that the pilot was Oberleutnant Dietrich Perkrun. Perhaps someone could fill in this one missing gap?
