Re: Fairey Firefly details sought please
This aircraft was 273/S when with 1770 Sq, but was transferred to 1772 in June. The two units carried the same range of code numbers, 270 to 281, so I suspect it was 273/S when it was lost.
At this stage the aircraft would carry its number on the side of the fuselage, and the carrier identity letter on the tail, S for Indefatigable.
