In late January 1943, the Staff of the 5/I. Fighter Group of the MKHL left for Kursk, then went to Kharkov and finally to Uman, where they continued training on the Bf 109F-2/F-4.
Is this the time period you had in your mind? Do you have other specifics on this event?
