Re: Beaufighter shot down on 05.12.1943

Alex,

I was not offering the loss of V8157 as the answer to Eric's question, rather giving information that you had attributed the wrong year to the loss of V8157.

From the draft RAF Coastal Command Losses, Vol 2.

05/12/42
404 Sqn
Beaufighter IIf
V8157
EE-P

Sgt N Taylor RCAF, R/86834, +
Sgt S E Pike, 656495, +

Training, RAF Dyce

Took off for formation flying but suffered a high speed stall and dived into the ground at Bucksburn Farm near Dyce at 11:00 hrs. Sgt Taylor, of Wainwright, Alberta, rests locally in Dyce Old Churchyard, Aberdeenshire, while Sgt Pike was buried at Radcliffe-on-Trent Cemetery, Nottinghamshire.

Regards
Ross
