I think this raid will always cause some issues, and in that context its good as researchers investigate and share their findings in order to "compete" to locate more and more factors. Perhaps we will never ever know what really happened, or perhaps in the case of this superb book we now actually do....but either dont agree, do agree or are not too sure. Thats what history is made of.
However on today I would like to put down all the differences of opinion and consider a some facts that are beyond dispute on today the 68th anniversary.
The sheer undiluted bravery of those young airmen who took part and after 68 years the fact that one is allowed to extend that to the airmen of both sides....and of course all those injured and those whose close families and relatives lives would remain unenviably altered forever.
