Re: Uffz S. Huber July 17 1940

Nothing on the 17 but the WASt has a Uffz Sebastian Huber shown as killed the 14th and buried in Netherlands.

On this date 11./LG 1 lost a Ju 87B shot down by Hurricanes flown by Gayner, Collard and Hugo of 615 Sqn (according to Mason's "Battle over Britain") near Dover at 15.09 hrs. The pilot was Oblt Sonnberg (killed) and the gunner was missing (no name given in book). It was probably Huber.

By the way the IV./LG 1 Stukas were attacking a convoy off Dover under fighter escort and Hurricanes intercepted. A BBC journalist was commenting the action on the radio from Dover cliffs ! Losses were one Hurricane and one Stuka.

There is an Oblt Kurt Sonnberg buried in Bourdon, Northern France, who died on 14 July.
