Buried Lommel, Block 49, Grave 104. Remaining crew: Uffz Heinrich Schmalfeldt, R/O (KIA) and Uffz Heinrich Bode, Gunner, bailed w/wounds. Bailed safely from Wk# 710182 on 29 May, 1944, when one engine caught fire and the crew was forced to bail near Gram Denmark due to his engine set onfire by enemy action. Remaining crew: Fw Josef Geiger also bailed safely, but Ofw Werner Schuldt's chute failed to deploy and he was killed.
