Re: Photos + 4-26-12

Hello!

I did stumble on this only today. This Flugbuch contains couple of interesting codes/planes ( http://www.ebay.de/itm/ws/eBayISAPI....m=300697849333 )

It seems Aufklärungsgruppe 33 did have a Ju 52 in it's books. At least I read there is three flights (298-300) with H8+ZM. Do I read it right? Fourth Staffel - 4.(H)/33 was based long period at Siverskaja and would fit the big picture of this Flughbuch. Luftwaffe units often times did code "odd types" starting from the last letter (Z in this case) backwards.

Another interesting plane is the Do 17 KB+TA. There is published picture of this plane in at least couple of books. I have pondered if the airfield could be Riga, Latvia (because of the hangars seen on the photo background). This Flugbuch proves that KB+TA has at least visited Riga in August, 1943. This same plane did fly numerous flights over Helsinki and Tallinn during Spring 1944, apparently practice target flights for the radar(s), searclights and AAA.

Cheers,
Kari
