Thanks for your comments. The photos show the aircraft with the tail and rear fuselage completely torn away, plus major wing damage on one side. It seems unlikely that this a/c would have been worth repairing. An 80% loss indicates very, very serious damage and essentially a write off. This doesn't seem to square with a later loss in 9.42.

Otherwise, the date 29 Sept. 1940 does match up with the white nose carried by the a/c, as does the unit (III./ZG26). Unless someone can turn up a better candidate with a W.Nr. 3428, this is probably the correct identification.
