Re Fletcher:
Andrew William FLETCHER, S/Ldr, (37280) DFC & Bar, M.D., from Cardston, Alberta, enlisted in mid 1935.In June/40 he was flying Blenheims in the No. 235 Sqdn. and was on many rough ops over Europe. Posted to No. 272 Sqdn. on Blenheims in Nov. for patrols from N.Ireland, they converted to Baufighters and went to Egypt in May/41 with S/Ldr Fletcher A.S.C.O. After much action he took No. 272 Sqdn. to Malta. His first DFC was in Oct/40 and the second Oct/41. Postwar ran a big family farm in Warner, Alberta until recent retirement to Lethbridge. He died in 1978.
There is a picture (size passport) in Les Allisons "Canadians in the Royal Air Force" on page 137.
