Looking for info on crash at Ecaussinnes, Belgium on 16 May 1940

Hello,

One of our EoE Working Group members who lives in the area is seeking information for the project about a story that on 16 May 1940 drunk French soldiers shot down a British plane at Ecaussinnes, Belgium.

One KIA was reported buried at Ecaussinnes, although there is nothing about this in the city records. This person may have been an "observer" named GRIBEAUVAL or GRIBAUVAL, which sounds more French than British.

Can anyone provide any information and/or photos on this one?

Regards,
