Trying to track down details of an FW-190 shot down July 26th 1944

I wonder if you may be able to help me, maybe not track down the exact aircraft, but maybe the Unit the FW-190 belonged to?

I have been talking with a P-51 Pilot who flew with the 319thFS/325thFG (Jack Kinney) and he details a victory he scored on the above date.

The mission was flown to Zwolfaxing, Austria (hope that's the correct spelling) escorting B-24's and during the mission the 325th encountered a group of FW-190's (also I believe 109's?).

He started his battle at 20,000 feet but soon the aircraft were low on the deck and he got hits on the 190 which then crashed.

I am not sure if this is the same group of FW-190's that the 317th took on when they went to help B-17's that the 332nd FG had failed to rendezvous with but it doesn't appear so.

He thinks the 190 went in close to a village but that is really all he can tell me of the incident.

With the sadly lacking information I realise identifying the Pilot will be pretty much impossible, but just wonder if units flying that day in that area may be possible identified?

Thanks for any help. Cheers, MP
