Re: Comprehensive A.I.1.(k) Report Collection?
Joe,
I'm afraid that only one of your queries falls within my period of research:
A.I.1.(k) Report No.789/1940 records the body of 60015/18 Uffz Heinrich ARP of 1./JG26 washed ashore at Littlestone along with wreckage from his aircraft on 24 October 1940 and buried in Grave O-407 at Hawkinge the following day. He had crashed into the Channel off Littlestone Gold Links at 3.30 p.m. on 22 October.
A.I.1.(k) Report No.826/1940 relates to a body washed up at Littlestone on 27 October 1940 and buried in Grave O-405 at Hawkinge on 1 November as ‘Unknown’. It carried identity disc 67005/1 that allowed RAF Intelligence to correctly deduce that this was Hauptmann Hans-Carl MAYER, Gruppenkommandeur of I./JG53, lost on 17 October and both cemetery and RAF records were documented accordingly.
