Foreman writes about this interception but the German aircraft is not identified.

"The only air combat occured over Northern Ireland at 0923 hours when two Hurricanes pilots of 245 Sqn, on routine patrol, were vectored towards a hostile aircraft near Lough Neagh. This was sighted by Sgts Hill and Sron, who identified it as a Do17 and chased it southward into Irish airspace. The chase was finally abandonned near Dublin, after the two pilots had expended all their ammunition. The bomber was claimed as a 'probable'."

In the same book, the Germans bomber losses this day:
_ a He 111 of IV./KG 27 crashed on take-off from Avord and two of the same unit belly-landed there (damage 30%, 15%, 10%)
_ a He 111 of III./KG 55 crash-landed at Villacoublay (20%)

It would be more logical that the bomber flying over Ireland was based in Britanny or at least western France rather than these two bases.
