Re: II/KG 100 in the Mediterranean

Hi Mark,

Here are two snippets of information that I have about this unit in the Mediterranean. Source is ULTRA signals from NA HW 1:

16 July 1942, 11:30: Quartermaster Luftflotte 2 to X. Fliegerkorps. II./K.G. 100 operations 16 July 1942 transport of bombs and fuel to FUKA North.

18 February 1943: Air report signed IC.
Attack on Benghazi by 4 He 111s of K.G. 100 and 16 Ju 88s of L.G. 1, 2 aircraft returned early due to technical problems. Attack took place at 06:15 – 06:30 and was concentrated after a low-level approach. Surprise achieved and much damage caused.

Cheers,
Andrew A.

I know next to nothing regarding II/KG 100.

What type of missions in Mediterranean in 1942, especially around Alexandria. Small scale bombing, mining, other?

Thanks,
