Have not seen it yet myself, but received this comment from a British expert on the subject who is familiar with the Italian-language sources:

My immediate reaction is mild disappointment. The largest portion of the book is a technical description of the Regia Marina's warships, but with very little information about the auxiliary fleet (converted merchant ships and civilian boats). This adds nothing to the information already available in Italian publications. There is very little information about historigraphy, personnel, training, etc.. I had expected this (therefore I am only mildly disappointed), but it would have been much more interesting to read something on the lines of Lavery's Churchill's navy.
