Rudel admits to a huge loss to the 31st FG Mustangs to 'another unit' then claimed he was attacked by '300 Mustangs' and out manuevered them to survive without loss. (page 150 "Stuka Pilot".
One Fighter group, the 31st comprised of 307, 308 and 309 FS recorded scores near Mielec. Credits 25 Destoyed - not all Ju 87's.
