Yes it does sound a lot doesnt it! when I heard that he'd died, I checked here to see if anyone had informed this site & they hadnt, so I looked on the net & the 1st write up I found,said exactly what I wrote, so I entered it onto this site,then I looked elsewhere & another said over 550 & a third said an exact number of either 553 or 557 or similar. I think the 'combat' part is/was an error & the count must have included training sessions. a proper research will find out for sure. Yes there are several tv (video) clips of interviews with him on the internet just search Jimmy Corbin dfc or William James Corbin dfc & you will find some.
