I found in a document received from the Bulgarian archives a report of the deadly accident of a Dewoitine D.520, happened at Karlovo a/f, on Nov. 3, 1943, witnessed by Herbert Matuschke, Einflieger und lic. Nachflieger des RLM.

I am wondering what unit was he actually part of and what did he do in Bulgaria? Perhaps, was he one of the german pilots who ferried the D.520s to Bulgaria?
