Lt. Ernst-Wilhelm Reinert shot downs in Normandy campaign
In Jadgeschwader 27 by Werner Girbig, the author shows Lt. Ernst Wilhelm Reinert, commander of 12th Staffel. as wounded on June 17,1944 and July 5,1944.
This is also shown in Frappe's "La Luftwaffe face au debarquement allie".
In Prien's history of III & IV/JG-27, these dates do not show Lt. Reinert as being shot down on these dates.
On June 17,1944 it shows "Bf-109G-6, Betriebverlust"
On July 5,1944 it shows "Bf-109G-6, Luftkampf ,Ort unbekkant."
Why wouldn't Prien's volume show Lt. Reinert as a casualty on this date? Just curious.
