Re: New book on Hans Joachim Marseille to be released.

I am going through it now; interesting read; all his planes & the mounts he lost/bent are included as well as his awards list & life timeline. All his vics are also tallied & identified as best as can be done. LOTS of recollections of JG27 luminaries and other JW aces who dealt with him who survived the war (Neumann, Steigler, Schroer, Demuth-who had the misfortune of trying to rein him in-as well as personalities within the Third Reich who met him in 'official' Berlin circles like Von Bonin & Riefenshtal); Each dogfight he took part is was recreated in words-that's the only weakness: I have a somewhat hard time 'visualizing' what exactly was taking place. Naturally his efforts to polish his art AND his 'on the ground' hijinks were recalled, given his rather anti authoritarian 'bohemian' nature-one gets the impression he was not only "the Star of Africa", but he was 'impulsive & childish' as well. It's a good read, all in all.
