Brian, thanks for that. May I ask what & what crash report that is, I'm guessing Air Ministry or similar? With some adaptation the Aims scheme sounds about right. I've found this a fascinating tale & as a reader for many years of Neville Shute's books, I've been entranced at the way he wove this incident into his "Requiem for a Wren."
