Re: Schlachtflieger Ofw Helmut mischke Questions and answers
Hi Guys
I have an answer to the DKiG debate. I now have a copy of the citation of the award, he was awarded it on 13th June 1944. Also have a picture of him wearing it and his wife, which would suggest that he was on leave after 13th June 1944, also he is not wearing the Ritterkreuz, though I have a small document stating he was a Ritterkreuz wearer dated 30th April 1944!
An explaination about the micro films is that unsually the micro films have a typed-out sheet of all that Staffel's claims until around 23rd July 1942, though some Staffel's continue until much later, after this date we have a daily claims sheet, well two for each day, one in the West, and one against Russians, the sub list is a pre-daily entry list which lists problem claims for all units i.e A.S.M or V.N.E claims, this means usually a problem with the claim like lake or air witness, or unsure about the time of the claim e.t.c. The actually daily micro film entries end in December 1944, but quite a few Staffel claims sheets have not survived, or have yet to be discovered. There are also claims sheets for Staffel's existing for all units(more or less) that just give Time and Date, no pilot name, type e.t.c. Hope this ixplaination is understandable?
Regards
Johannes
