Re: Schlachtflieger Ofw Helmut mischke Questions and answers
Hi Guys
Mischke's daughter Monika states that her Grandmother told her tht on the 3rd May 1945 her son's unit was ordered to surrender all aircraft in Flensburg. He(Mischke) was not asked to accompany them, but told his mother that he would not let his comrades do this alone, his mother said "Don't go, you will not come back" to which he laughed and said that she had never said anything like that before with all his actions, and now he was just transfering an aircraft. His mother also told Monika that Mischke had already been offered a test pilot job at Messerschmidt.
So it's hard to see his motive to abscond to Sweden. Can anybody dig up this order?
Kind Regards
Johannes
