Helmut Wenk was one of the men on this III./S.G. 1 transfer flight to Flensburg, and he told us the story of the loss of a FW 190 D-9 pilot: "... they still shot down two of our pilots, and the Feldwebel in the 190 D was one of them". Fw. Mischke]". Mischke was definitely not flying to Sweden, and I'm not sure where that story orginated.
