also stands for "Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur E (v) 228/XI" (=Athies sur Laon / France)
The digital Version of the Kannapin book about thegerman fieldpostnumbers is wrong on this number. There "E (v) 208/XI" is given, due to bad transscripton from the printed book (but it has to be really E228/XI !)
After all this means: The crash is for sure not related with Venlo ! The man served from 6/41 until 7/44 in Athies sur Laon / France.
