Gentlemen, please be careful with my info and try to cross-check it, if possible. Although my data mostly comes from NVM, there are still problems:
- GQM reports are containing information on material losses and therefore are not so accurate with names (in 1939 - early 1940 only names of officers were reported),
- Vordruck I and Vordruck II (NVM) is a reporting system for personnel losses and therefore more reliable with crew info,
- NVMs are sometimes so bad (4th or 5th carbon copy), that you have "flip the coin" to decide between letters "o" and "e", "n" and "u", "s" and "z" and so on,
- when comparing info in NVMs and EKM-listings, I have found appr. 3 % of the personnel info being unclear as having a slighly different name (Schmidt versus Schmitt etc), a different date of birth or a different EKM number,
- some flying units, especially in the beginning, wrote documents by hand, sometimes even in sütterlin and this gives a way to a possible misunderstanding,
- and finally, when typing information into my computer I have made typing errors just as the clerks did during WW 2.
Trerefore, please suspect and check. I am always grateful for questioning, because by this way the final truth might be revealed.
