Hi Brian,
The station records report the following:
"The enemy aircraft was engaged with both the front and rear guns, and was seen to be hit in the port wing and fuselage. Black smoke was coming from one of the engines, but the enemy was lost to sight in the mist".
There is no mention of any other aircraft, perhaps the damaged the JU88 was picked off by Blue Section No.1 Squadron. Do they mention the JU88 having a smoking engine ?
