Dear Gang,

for my eyes - it's just a guess - the nickname "butcher bird" was created by anyone of the British fighter pilot oppenents when first was engaged with the new Fw 190 with its (at this stage of air warfare) surprisingly performance and armarment.
I may be somehow offshore with my opinion, so please don't hesistate to correct me if i am wrong.
