DaveM2, the JU188D-3 reconnaissance plane that came down on the 28th December 1944 in Loch Broom crashed between Isle Martin and the mainland. The undercarriage was on display for a while outside the Ullapool Museum, then it was moved south somewhere. The wreckage as been much broken up by trawl fishing and anchors from factory ships during the mackerel fishing 'high' of the 80-'s/90's.
