Porto Vecchio (Corsica) sept., 1943
The German landing craft F588 was heavily damaged, according to http://historisches-marinearchiv.de/projekte/landungsfahrzeuge/marinefaehrprahm/ausgabe.php?where_value=107 , by 8-9 Italian fighter-bombers between Palau (Sardinia) and Porto Vecchio (Corsica), on Sept., 13th, 1943 (after the Italian Armistice). It seems that the Italian airplanes had German military badges (?!I’m not sure about the translation…).
I have an air raid by Cant Z 1007 bombers on Porto Vecchio on Sept., 19th, 1943 and another raid by 5 Cant Z 1007 in Bonifacio straits against the German barges evacuating Sardinia. No info about fighter-bombers actions on sept., 13th.
Any info about this episode and the unit of Italian airplanes ?
Thanks in advance
Fabrizio
