Re: eBay: one Bf109D-1 "Gelbe 12" wreck.

Franck,

After further information and consideration, this incident took place at Böblingen Airfield, Germany, shortly after I./JGr126 and I/ZG76 moved there on 3 November 1939. The main a/c, in what was apparently a ground collision, was obviously a 100% write off. Note that the trees still haven't lost all their leaves so it can't be much later in the year than early November. Unfortunately the Luft QM records provide no ID of this specific incident for either unit. If anyone has any information that can put an exact date, and, even better, a pilot with this incident, your info would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that this could be a collision between two Bf109D-1 a/c from I./JGr126, or an a/c of that unit with a Bf110C of I./ZG76.
