Re: Seeking Photo/Info for full code on 5(F)/122 Do17P SD 23.11.39 at Bras-sur Meuse, N of Verdun, France
Rémi,
Thanx for your three photos. They did post and I was able to download them. I already had the bottom one showing Le Gloan and Martin, but the other two were new to me. These were not what I expected. The only other 5.(F)/122 photo I have is of a FL Do17P from the WC/FC period with the code F6+NN. The first "N" is clearly in red with a white outline. It doesn't look like they were using this system on the FL 23.11.39 Do17P. If they were using it at that time, this may have been painted out as you say, or even not yet applied. What I think I see is a red "C" or maybe "G" but without any outline. I can't tell for sure. I'm going to send you a PM with my personal email address so that we can discuss these photos. Please contact me at that address.
Your effort to post these is much appreciated.
Clearly this a/c was well photographed. Does anyone else perhaps have a photo showing the port side code, or even a view of the top of the wing with the individual a/c code visible?
