Seeking date of change from white to blue a/c letters and prop spinners on 1./ZG1 Bf110C aircraft during Phoney War

Hello,

For profiling purposes, I'm trying to determine the approximate date when 1./ZG1 changed from solid white individual a/c code letters and prop spinners to plane letters painted blue with a thin white outline, and prop spinners painted blue with white tips and back plates.

Clearly during the Polish Campaign (09.39), I/ZG1 aircraft, including 1 Staffel, had spinners and plane letters in the Staffel and Gruppe colors. However, in 1 Staffel, this change over had happened by the beginning of the French/Western Campaign, This new color coding system was carried over to 1./ErprGr 210, which drew a number of planes and crews from 1./ZG1 when it was established in July, 1940.

This change over happened sometime during the roughly eight months after the PC (10.39) and the beginning of the Blitzkrieg in the west (05.40). Can anyone help me pinpoint fairly precisely when? Dated photos may be the only reliable way to do this.

Who can help?

Regards,

Larry
