FltSgt (WoP) - James Howie Smart - RAFVR 640 Sqdn - 16/02/1944 .
On 16th February 1944 Halifax III serial number LW585 "C8-H" of 640 Squadron, on return from Berlin crashed at 0130hrs into a hill at Cloughton, some 4 miles NNW of Scarborough, Yorkshire, all seven crew were killed. ( B C L vol 5 ).
